BREAD AND FISH…COINS AND BILLS…OR MIRACLES OF FAITH?   Over the last twenty-one years the Gleaners CommunityKitchen has served over 300,000 meals to the hungry among us, thanks to small, but consistent, cash donations. Every donation – no matter how small – is significant when God is at work.

And the Rev. Richard Krapf now has a special message for would-be donors: “What if I told you of a way to double your money? This tip is too good to be kept secret so here it is: all donations by members of this parish to the Gleaners Community Kitchen will be matched up to $1,500. If you donate $50, the Kitchen gets $100. In this economy, no one else can offer that kind of return! But hurry! This deal is only good through September 30, 2010. Please make sure your donation is labeled “Gleaners Matching Fund” on the memo line of your check. ”Please leave your offering with the fish and loaves at the front aisle.

EAGLE NEWS DEADLINE is Wednesday, August 11, 2010. News items for September, October, and November, 2010, should be submitted to the church office to the attention of Pat Perkins or call her at 374-2976.

A LETTER OF REQUEST  FROM REV. RICHARD WITT:

Dear Friends,

Rural & Migrant Ministry, in conjunction with the East Bloomfield Migrant Education Program will host a two week summer youth program the first two weeks of August at the Liturgia Rural Workers Education in Lyons (next to Grace Church)   The program will take place in the afternoon.

The theme of the program is "Our Journey"   Through writing, art, exploration and activities we will help middle school aged children develop an understanding of their journey in the context of history.

We are looking for volunteers to help our staff run three daily afternoon workshops. Volunteers will help with the children as well as set up and clean up from the activities (we repeat each workshop three times)

If you are interested please contact Bethany Mason  at bethycourtright@hotmail.com   Please help us get the word out by passing this on.

In Peace
